‘The Mandalorian’ is the first action series of the Star Wars Universe. The first season premiered on
Disney+ last year in November. It is written by Jon Favreau, who also plays the role of “Happy” in the
Marvel Cinematic Universe. The next season is to be released on October 30th, 2020.
This series centers on a bounty hunter by the name Din Djarin and his actions in a region that is beyond
the reach of the New Republic. The story is set 5 years after the events in ‘Return of the Jedi’ and 25
years before the time of ‘The Force Awakens’.
The trailer for season 2 was released earlier this year. Many teasers and story details have been
revealed in the past regarding the characters and plot of the series. The directors have also given clues
and hints to the fans about how the next season is going to have more action and iconic scenes.
“The new season is about introducing a larger story in the world,” says Favreau, who notes the show will
expand beyond Mando-Centric tales. “The stories become less isolated, yet each episode has its flavor,
and hopefully we’re bringing a lot more scope to the show.” Adds Filoni, “Everything gets bigger, the
stakes get higher, but also the personal story between the Child and the Mandalorian develops in a way

also known to many that Pedro Pascal, who played the role of Oberyn Martell in the HBO fantasy drama
‘Game of Thrones’, will play the show’s lead of the Razorscrest gunship. Gina Carano will also be
featured in the new season.

“As Mando and The Child continue their quest, expect the bounty hunter to face a series of obstacles
that will increasingly challenge his paternal loyalty to his ward. We start very directly after the first
season and he’s going into very dangerous territory,” Pascal says.
“He is very much a passenger to the experience in unexpected ways- not knowing what’s to come, not
knowing how much or how best to protect the Child. We don’t know how far he will go to do that, and
they’re finding new ways to push the envelope.” Pascal continued regarding Mando’s and the Child’s
Esposito was nominated for Emmy because of his exceptional performance in the first season. He says
“I’ll be going toe-to-toe with Mando. It’s an iconic battle. I want to harm him mentally as well, who
knows? Maybe there’s an opportunity to get him to help me with my battles. You may think I’m a villain,
but I’m trying to harness some energy and some powers for a path best for all”.
