It was reported on 3rd September 2020 that the new Batman Robert Pattinson is diagnosed with the
Coronavirus. After many delays due to the pandemic, the filming of the movie ‘The Batman’ had started
in the last few days of August. It was only after a week that the news of a crew member testing positive
for the Coronavirus was revealed by the director Matt Reeves.
Warner Brothers never broke the news of Pattinson testing positive for the virus, but both The New York
Times and Vanity Fair confirmed that the lead actor Robert is the individual who got the virus.
On 17th September, it was posted by a spokesman from Warner Brothers that the filming for The
Batman will be resuming in the U.K with utmost precautions for the Coronavirus. This was the third time
that the production for the movie resumed.

Dawn of Justice (2016), Suicide Squad (2016), and Justice League (2017). In February 2019, it was
announced that Ben Affleck will be stepping down from the role of Bruce Wayne due to personal
reasons. Later that year in May, Robert was cast in replacement for Ben.
The two-time Oscar-winning actor expressed his optimistic views on Robert playing the role of Bruce
Wayne in an interview by YouTuber Jack Hamilton. Pattinson has been on the screen with great
characters from playing Cedric Diggory in the beginning movies of Harry Potter to Edward Cullen in the
The other cast members of the Matt Reeves upcoming The Batman are Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul
Dano as Riddler, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as the Commissioner, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and

‘THE BATMAN’ ANNOUNCED IN 2015
The film has been announced for a very long time. In 2015, Ben Affleck and Geoff John had announced
that they would be writing the script for a standalone Batman movie. They both started working on the
writing of the film. Later that year, they handed in the first draft of the movie.
After finishing the script of the film, it was announced in the Cinema Con in April 2016 that the movie
‘The Batman’ directed by Affleck will start filming in mid-2017 after finding the perfect cast for the film.
Due to some major flaws, Affleck started showing his disinterest in the film. In 2017, John decided to
step aside from the film and that caused a delay in the filming. With all the other projects releasing from
Warner Bros., the project was set aside. After the news of Affleck and all other cast members stepping
down, it was decided that the script will be rewritten by Matt Reeves.
The movie will now release in October 2021 as reported by a spokesman from Warner Bros. after a final
pause in the film.
