Sky Studios’ Devils season two has been announced while the season one has not yet released on The CW in the United States. The Italian financial thriller drama television premiered its first season on 17th April 2020 on Sky Atlantic in Italy. The show got an IMDB rating of 7/10.
ALESSANDRO AS MASSIMO RUGERRO
Alessandro Borghi is the lead role in the series and also the co-creator of the show. The plot of the series can be considered similar to the Canadian show ‘Bad Blood.’ With massive scandals and financial crises, this show has described itself as the top thriller drama series of 2020.
An Italian man who moved to the United States to discover his hidden skills, Massimo Rugerro (played by Alessandro), is the Head of Trading at a vast multinational American Bank ‘New York-London Bank’. His behavior and attitude around people can be seen similar to that of Harvey Specter from NBC’s law television drama ‘Suits.’
Ruggero’s mentor is Dominic Morgan (played by Patrick Dempsey). Dominic is also the CEO at Massimo’s bank, NYL. Dominic and Ruggero form a great and powerful team of great minds. They can be considered as the top financial traders in New York City.
MORGAN AS THE MENTOR
Morgan is also characterized as a father figure to Ruggero. He is the person responsible for the growth and the position that Massimo has. Even after the financial crisis outbreak in Europe, NYL profited a lot more than being one of the companies that got closure.
Morgan and Ruggero made billions during the crisis with their strong speculative abilities. The decision to make Ruggero the Vice-CEO of the company is quite clear. But the plot has the main twist here. At the time of electing the Vice-CEO, Massimo does not get chosen. Instead, another banker is chosen: Edward Stewart (played by Ben Miles).
A SUSPENSEFUL DRAMA
Devils’ season one is full of suspense and mystery drama. Before the promotion, we get to see that Ruggero gets stuck in a massive scandal involving his ex-wife being a prostitute. This news brings his reputation down, and he loses the impression that he created among his co-workers and his mentor.
Later after the promotion, Massimo suspects that something is wrong and that the scandal was orchestrated by someone to bring his reputation down. He starts to find the truth behind the scandal. The promoted banker Edward then dies that makes Ruggero realize that the game being played is bigger than him.
The first season has shown us enough details on the storyline of the show. The second season will start its production, as announced by the show director Nick Hurran. The first season of Devils will premiere on October 7th, 2020, in the United States. The fans will surely be excited for this one to come soon to our television screens.
