Victoria’s Secret Rebrand: Priyanka Chopra, Megan Rapinoe and Valentina Sampaio New Ambassadors

Victoria's Secret is bidding goodbye to signature ‘Angels’ and hello to activists, actors, and athletes as the lingerie brand's fresh spokespeople.

A couple of weeks ago, Rihanna made headlines for a look she put together to go to the bookstore. She rocked feathered vintage jeans courtesy of Tom Ford’s reign over Gucci. However, the thing that set the look apart was a huge and furry hat by London-based designer Benny Andallo.

The 33-years old singer has worn not just Andallo’s hat but also a pistachio green one from British milliner Emma Brewin in 2020. Most recently, she was spotted in a zebra-print hat from R13. The If It’s Lovin’ That You Want singer may have set the trend in motion, but she’s not the only one.

Hailey Bieber was spotted wearing a yellow furry hat in March. The massive furry hat appeared on Acne Studios’s fall 2021 show runway, too. Dua Lipa casually donned them at the airport, and Gigi Hadid nailed the look in the magazine Vogue. Recently, Brewin had a sample sale on Instagram, and every last one of the pieces sold in a matter of hours. He felt the hat was a mix between a chic old lady and Jamiroquai. With an added splash of Pamela Anderson. The big and fuzzy hat has seen immense popularity for fashion-forward people. It is representative of adventurous fashion risk-takers. It’s hard not to stand out with such a loud statement hat sitting on top of your head, isn’t it? The fuzzy bucket hat has taken adventure in fashion to another level.

The trend, however, isn’t as modern as Rihanna’s look. Gurvitch and Andallo have both said that the trend isn’t something new altogether. They connect the massive hat to Jamiroquai, a ’90s British funk and acid-jazz band. The bucket trend is retro as it represents the ’90s, furry Kangols and the bubblegum pink hat Pamela Anderson came in at the 1999 VMAs. Jacobs’s 2012 hats were also similar but never really caught on away from the runway. Eleven years later, we see these hats go big everywhere.
