When discussing the “Restore The Snyderverse” campaign, Zack Snyder claims that Warner Bros. is “aggressively anti-Snyder.” Keep reading to know more.
While addressing the ‘Restore The Snyderverse’ campaign started by the Twitterati after the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, director Zack Snyder shared something that makes it less likely that the Snyderverse would ever be revived.
During a talk with the host of the YouTube channel, “Jake’s Takes,” the director who orchestrated a large portion of the DCEU films shared optimism about the restoration on some basis. He did, however, expose the stance that Warner Bros. officials had towards him.
Snyder was asked about whether fans should hope for a revival of his vision of the DCEU when promoting his forthcoming film, Army Of The Dead. Snyder can be heard saying, “Warner Bros. has been aggressively anti-Snyder if you will. What can I say? Clearly, they’re not interested in my take. But I would also say that they certainly weren’t interested in, I would have said originally in my take on Justice League. They certainly made decisions about that”.
Snyder continued the dialogue by expressing his interest in the environments shown in the DCEU films. He also went on to say that he admires the Snyderverse fans’ passion for the franchise, which contributed to the launch of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and that he hopes Warner Bros. recognizes what the Restore The Snyderverse campaign represents.
Snyder was quoted saying, “I love the characters, and I love the worlds, and I think it’s an amazing place to make a movie. It’s a fantastic IP. So, there’s that. I don’t know what could be done as you go forward other than I think the fan movement is so strong, and the fan community, [their] intention is so pure, and I really have this huge respect for it. I would hope that cooler heads would prevail with [the studio] and they would see that there’s this massive fandom that wants more of that. But who knows what they’ll do?” On the other hand, Zack Snyder’s Army Of The Dead will be released on Netflix and in select theaters around the world later this month. One of the things that the film would do, according to Snyder, is to let the viewers empathize with the zombies.
In the past, Snyder has downplayed the possibility of the SnyderVerse being resurrected. In reality, he said clearly before the film’s release on HBO Max that he had no intention to resume the arc, but this still seemed to be a studio decision rather than one taken by Snyder. Given how open-ended Zack Snyder’s Justice League is and how it sets up a sequel, it’s no surprise that viewers want to see his vision unfold to reach its intended culmination. Warner Bros. is adamant about not restoring the SnyderVerse because, as they’ve previously said, “they’re looking towards the future.” It seems silly to dismiss the fanbase’s importance, mainly because they’re the reason the Snyder Cut exists in the first place.
Do you believe the SnyderVerse should be resurrected?
