There’s a sense of sentiment behind inheriting clothes from your family, be it your mother or grandma. Singer Katy Perry realizes that there’s something indescribably special about holding onto pieces that have been passed down to you with so much love and familial affection. These days, with the way nostalgic styles always come back around, outfits from decades ago have the potential for a second stunning life. Knowing the value a wardrobe can have, Katy saves her wardrobe for her daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom. But, of course, having seen Katy’s wardrobe through the years, we know her closet is massive and one-of-a-kind.
Even though Katy and Orlando Bloom’s baby girl is only an 8-month-old, we can understand the Teenage Dream singer’s excitement. While Daisy won’t be digging through mom’s closet for quite some time, it’s hard not to imagine her in those fashionably envious clothes. The singer is ready to hand over her favorite wardrobe pieces to Daisy as soon as she is ready. Recently, the 36-year-old mother opened up about her eagerness to give her daughter access to all of her outfits.
“I think about it all the time. I do a lot of cleanups, but I always have some stuff that I’m thinking about,” Katy explained. Ever since she found out she was having a girl, Katy knew she’d wanted nothing more than to share her clothes with Daisy.
“I need them to go somewhere and I want them to be worn again.” She also joked that Daisy would probably just be goth and politely decline her clothes. Given Katy’s eclectic outfits from over the years, we find that hard to believe. However, Daisy will probably be psyched to try them on when she’s older. What a lucky, lucky baby.
The wardrobe passing down may come much later, but the first-time mother has kept herself open to enjoying the new beginnings that come with motherhood. Katy celebrated her first Mother’s Day and posted an adorable message showcasing gratitude for all moms out there earlier this month.
“I found everything I was ever searching for when I became a mother. So grateful for that profound, deep love and honored to join the mama club,” she wrote on Twitter.
Katy is also vocal about how being a mother is the highlight of her life. She thinks it’s a game-changer and amazing. It’s the best decision she’s ever made.
