Fans have been waiting too long! Gossip Girl is finally back with a brand new reboot series. The teaser was recently released by HBO Max and has left fans (and not-so-fans) buzzing worldwide. The one-minute-long video has everything Gossip Girl fans know and love, gorgeous teens and their super scandalous lives.
After HBO Max released the first teaser and poster art for the reboot, fans have so many questions it’s hard to keep up. Several questions revolving around the show’s theme and storyline have popped up, as fans wonder what will be the similarities and differences between the reboot and the original Gossip Girl. The new teaser sure promises to deliver the usual quirky friendships, controversial flings, and sassy drama the show is famous for. However, this time it’s about the millennial era.
Let’s talk about the teaser, though! The video gives a glimpse of a bunch of Upper East Siders that are now social media influencers. They carefully police their images on social media. Gossip Girl has a lot in store for them, as she plans to turn their lives over. She is heard saying, in the iconic voice fans know and love: “You have gotten comfortable, thinking you’re in control of your image, your actions, the narrative that you forgot one thing. I can see you. And before I’m through, I’ll make sure you see me too.”
The teaser video showcases a party set up, and college students can be seen enjoying the party. They’re clicking selfies, throwing seductive glances around, and even making out when they get a text from their beloved Gossip Girl. We’re already intrigued.
At the end of the trailer, Gossip Girl’s classic “XOXO” is also featured when the cast is sitting on the couch. On Twitter, Gossip Girl posted the teaser and revealed the Gossip Girl reboot release date.
“Bet you’re excited to see me back in action. Don’t forget I’ve got my eye on you too. See you July 8. XOXO, Gossip Girl,” the tweet said.
