The Billboard Hot 100 song ranking has BTS’s “Butter” at No. 1. The song is the superstar South Korean septet’s fourth Hot 100 No. 1 in nine months, the quickest collection of four initial leaders by any artist since Justin Timberlake a decade and a half ago. BTS has the quickest four No. 1 singles of any group since the Jackson 5 in 1970.
One of the group’s most popular songs, “Butter,” has set numerous records, including the greatest debut on the Spotify Global Charts with 11.04 million streams, the biggest single streams in the history of Spotify with 20.9 million streams, the most concurrent viewers for a video premiere on YouTube with 3.9 million viewers, and the most viewed video in 24 hours with a staggering 108.2 million views.
“We released ‘Butter’ to bring a fun song that anyone can enjoy,” BTS remarked after accomplishing this achievement. “We’re happy and honored that the song reached No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 again. The song debuted on the Billboard Global 200 with a record-breaking “289.2 MILLION streams, the biggest ever in the graph’s history, previously held by “Life Goes On” (152.5M).” They also became the first band in history to have seven No. 1 songs on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales Chart, with ‘Butter’ having the highest digital commerce week of 2021. BTS’s past Billboard Hot 100 chart hits include “Dynamite,” the septet’s first all-English single, “Savage Love (Laxed Siren Beat),” the septet’s collaboration with Jason Derulo and Jawsh 682, and “Life Goes On,” from their 2020 album BE, which also made history as the first Korean song to debut at Number One.
The group’s eighth-anniversary celebrations, BTS Muster SOWOOZOO, will include two global live-streamed events on June 13th and 14th.
