The God of Mischief is taking over as the Lucky Charms mascot, but for a limited time only.
If this isn’t the perfect celebration, we don’t know what is!
The cereal brand General Mills Lucky Charms has decided to go dark for a new and special limited-edition cereal, Loki Charms. A collaboration between General Mills and Marvel, the limited-edition cereal, celebrates the new Loki series, which will be premiering on June 9 on Disney+ Hotstar.
However, Loki Charms will not be available easily. Given how they’re seriously limited edition, the cereal will not be available in grocery stores. In addition, only 3,500 boxes of Loki Charms are available, and the special green box will cost a whopping $8, which will include shipping charges.
If you’re looking to score a box of Loki Charms, you should know that of the 3,500 boxes that will be available, 1,000 of those will be available only through presale. This makes them super exclusive and hard to get hands-on. Other cereal brands have also offered similarly limited-edition versions of their breakfast varieties themed to popular movies and shows. This includes Spider-Man-themed Spidey Berries and Kellogg’s C-3PO’s from the 80s. It’s no secret that fans of all franchises have enjoyed eating their favorite characters for breakfast.
Fans can try to secure their box of Loki Charms by visiting MischievouslyDelicious.com at 11:00 am EST on June 9, 2021. The presale is available to the first 1,000 customers who successfully guess the magic encryption password, which will begin at 9:00 am EST through the website and leave only 2,500 boxes for general release.
Tom Hiddleston has portrayed the son of Odin in many Marvel Cinematic Universe films, which includes Thor as well as the Avengers series. Hiddleston’s portrayal of Loki has seen fans’ acclaim and is also highly praised by critics.
In the new Disney+ series, fans will follow an alternate form of Loki after taking the Tesseract while the events of the movie Avengers: Endgame play out. Loki is summoned before the mysterious bureaucratic organization, the Time Variance Authority. Here, he’s given a choice to fix the timeline and stop a looming threat on the world. If not, he would face being erased completely from existence. However, it seems that time isn’t the only thing mischievous Loki is keen on disrupting.
Loki taking over as a new mascot for Lucky Charms is actually the perfect combination. The original mascot, Lucky the Leprechaun, has served as a mascot for the cereal since 1963. He has often been depicted as playing tricks on kids trying to steal his cereal. As the God of Mischief is looking to play a few tricks of his own, the cereal coincides perfectly with the release of the series.
The cereal itself doesn’t appear to be any different. Yes, fans would’ve loved marshmallow Mjolnirs! However, the box has received a powerful Loki re-theming. Fans eager to watch the new Disney+ series will definitely want to enjoy their Loki Charms breakfast when the show finally premieres.
