With the report of the rapper formally joining the Fast and Furious movie franchise, fans are just tallying the days left to experience the talented rapper in an action role.
As the film is about to hit the big screen soon, the filmmakers have taken the fervor up a notch by releasing a brief video clip involving the musician who blew the gaff about her role as (Leysa) and how she came to be the part of the franchise.
The latest installment in the billion-dollar movie franchise is ready to hit the big screens in the UK on June 24 and a day later in the USA. Cardi stars with the likes of Ludacris, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, John Cena, and Charlize Theron with the Popstar playing the character Leysa.
Although the clip doesn’t show her getting in the driver’s seat just yet, it does show her in the rear end of the vehicle dressed in all-black combat gear. Fans can only hope that she’s too gets to drive the fast cars to drift past explosions and vault over tall structures and buildings because if she doesn’t, would the fans even remember she was in a Fast and Furious film?
In the footage, Cardi B says, “Vin has approached me, and he nd spoke of a role. I’m like, ‘It’s freakin’ Fast & Furious. Get me there, put me on a plane!’ I like the way that I’m representing an incredible, resilient woman.” The footage then transitions to Cardi B following up on set and getting ready to shoot a few of her action-laden scenes. Cardi B adds, “It’s just so lovely to be around Vin, so awesome, so dope. He makes you feel so comfortable. I’m just so excited.”
This isn’t Cardi’s first time on the big screen. Back in 2019, Cardie played a small role in Hustlers. However, Fast and the Furious will be the first action movie of her acting career.
Shortly after the “Behind the scenes” footage was made public, Cardie B also took to Twitter to share her excitement as she tweeted, “I can’t wait to watch Fast and furious 9. I haven’t watched my scenes yet. That is the best part about it, though, watching the film, then you see yourself coming in. I’m so proud of myself. GOD IS GOOD!!”
It was first revealed that Cardi B was the latest addition to the long-running franchise when actor Vin Diesel posted a clip with her as he hinted that something big is coming up on his private Instagram.
