Britney Spears voices her struggles during her court hearing on Wednesday in regards to her court-ordered conservatorship that has been set up for almost 13 years.
Spears asked Judge Brenda Penny to discuss the arrangement. The Criminal singer addressed the court via phone and spoke a little over 20 minutes from her prepared notes.
“I’ve been in shock. I am traumatized,” she said, during a hearing that was live-streamed to the media by the court. “I just want my life back.” She said she wants the conservatorship, which she feels is “abusive,” to end “without having to be evaluated.”
Back in 2008, the court granted Jamie Spears control over Britney’s business and personal affairs in a conservatorship hearing.
Prior to the current hearing, Britney spoke before the judge openly in May 2019 however the court was closed to the general public, and her statement was sealed.
Britney Spears said she wishes to get married again and have children. The pop star mentioned having a contraceptive device that she wants to get rid of. Yet she isn’t allowed to see a doctor because “because they don’t want me to have kids.”
Britney is the mother of her two kids Sean Preston and Jayden James with her former spouse Kevin Federline. In the present Kevin Federline holds the custodial rights of the children.
Last year Spears initiated the litigation to withdraw Jamie Spears, her father from controlling her personal as well as financial affairs going from her medical treatment to those who visit her in her Los Angeles villa.
Although the former teen sensation made a rebound at the end of 2009 and launched music albums, performed, and was touring until late 2018 when she scrapped her schedules.
Britney has not been doing any concerts since late 2018.
