Following Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take” played in the background of the iconic training montage in season 2 of Cobra kai, the legendary Dee Snyder appeared for more during Cobra Kai season 3 which premiered on New year’s day. The whole season highlights metal and hefty rock music from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Motley Crue’s, Journey, soundtrack. And other 80s classics.
At a musical concert featuring Dee Snyder’s band, the show’s protagonist Jhonny Lawrence (William Zabka) even comments “That is Dee Snider, the most boss rocker ever!”.
Why was Dee Snider on ‘Cobra Kai’ Season 3?
Season 3 of Cobra Kai definitely didn’t have a great start. Xolo Maridueña (Miguel) is unconscious in hospital after fracturing his back in the season 2 finale. Xolo does regain consciousness but is unable to stand on his feet.
Lawrence feeling responsible for Xolo’s condition tries to help him recuperate.
Lawrence’s tough love attempts to make Xolo walk doesn’t go as planned, surprisingly something else works. Johnny leads Miguel to a Dee Snider concert. Many ’80s classic bands like REO Speedwagon and Foreigner have made an appearance on the show. So it kind of made sense that Jhonny being a huge “Twisted Sister” fan couldn’t let the opportunity pass to see Dee in action once again.
Dee plays himself performing in the concert. Miguel begins tapping his foot to the beat marking the beginning of his recuperation.
Dee Snider might be the reason for Miguel’s comeback
Some might think that Cobra Kai season 3 basically gave Snider’s music superpowers. As though Twisted Sister wasn’t virtuoso enough.
Dee’s music meets the power to heal wounds.
Hayden Schlossberg, the director of Cobra Kai said “ We convinced Dee it would be a fantastic moment for fans to enjoy”. “Miguel fans are dying to see that foot kicking again and this might be the best way to do it”.
