Fans of The Night Manager can finally rejoice! as the highly anticipated second season of the critically acclaimed show is in the works. Amazon Prime Video and the BBC are expected to greenlight a two-season order. The filming is set to begin later this year in London and South America. Season 2 is set to open with Pine discovering that Roper died two years ago, leaving him with a new and more dangerous challenge. The script for the new season is written by David Farr, who also wrote the original six-part miniseries. The first season, directed by Susanne Bier, aired on AMC and was a huge success. It is unclear who will be directing the new season, but season 1 boss Susanne Bier has ruled herself out of the running. She explained that she was not sure if she would do her very best work the second time around, so she decided to not direct it and have somebody else take on the challenge. Bier won an Emmy for her directing on season 1 of The Night Manager.

The first season of The Night Manager was one of the top-rated UK dramas of 2016. It aired on AMC in the US, and it won two Emmys and three Golden Globes. The cast roster was impressive, with Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, Elizabeth Debicki, and David Harewood starring alongside Hiddleston and Laurie.
