You need first to relax and act a bit spontaneous. If you are feeling awkward in front of a camera you can look aside and show your better profile (it’s usually the left side), make a pose that you feel comfortable in. Give yourself enough time to adjust. It can be a good idea to close your eyes just before you take a shot, and then open them and try to smile as naturally as you can.
Second is to do something with your hands. Act natural! Place your hands in your pockets or place them one on top of the other. You can also play with your accessories if you have the- bracelets, rings, necklaces, watch it all comes in handy.
Have a good posture! That is one of the most common mistakes for taking a photo. The tip for this is to inhale before you take a photo. Don’t fully inhale, just enough to make your chest wider and your whole back straight. And trust me, you will have a much better-looking photo.
Walk the walk – freeze walking! Also known as one foot forward. You simply walk a couple of steps and take shots. You’ll have at least one photo that is a game changer. This pose is good because it gives movement and dynamic to your photo and that is why it’s so useful.
